Name: Syron
Gender: Male
Age: 20-24 moons/months.
Species: Barn Owl/Tyto Alba
Code Word: (Redacted)
Description: Syron is slender for a Barn Owl, and is also taller than average. Thus, he can be somewhat intimidating to some owls, either intending or not intending to. His slenderness is not because of undernourishment, it is just how he's physically built. His white facial disc has a narrow, light golden brown rim around it, and his dark eyes are accented by some light streaks of color that surround them. His facial disc doesn't have any spots present on it, and his beak would be considered normal. The top and side of his head are lightly speckled with faint black spots among the light brown, and the light brown slowly fades down into a mix of light gray and brown the farther down his neck and back you go. His wings are faintly barred with black and slightly more mottled than his neck and back along with his tail, and the speckles are more visible on the wings and his tail feathers than anywhere else on his body. His talons are normal, as well as his legs, for a Barn Owl. He keeps his feathers clean and neat as often as he can, as he tends to fly around from place to place a lot. He is a strong flier as a result of how much he flies around, and could theoretically go flying for exceptionally long times without stopping. He is very fit.
Personality: Syron tends to stay on the fringes of society where he won't interact with other owls as much; He finds that they tend to shy away from him as he is an outsider, and he also is intimidating in some cases to them. He's also been associated with the Pure Ones or Saint Aegolius a few times by other owls, mostly the Pure Ones. As a result, he's pretty reclusive, but also observant. He doesn't shy away from showing hospitality and letting owls share his hollow for the night however, as long as he deems them to have no malicious intent. He was in that place once, too. He's also patient as a result of his extensive reclusiveness. Although, he's very untrusting to all owls that he meets, regardless of how they seem. He's seen quite a number of owls over his travels, from all walks of life, and can associate one thing with many of them; dishonesty and deceit. He can be paranoid at times, but usually not without good reason. His paranoia even keeps him alert to things others wouldn't notice at the time. He's also almost always in a constant state of depression, and his untrustingness, paranoia, and depression clash a lot inside of him. Still, he finds the will inside himself to live on and do things. He keeps himself occupied with preening, flying, and observing most of the time.
Strengths:
-Patient
-Knowledgeable/Intelligent
-Observant
-Conditioned
Weaknesses:
-Untrusting
-Can be slightly paranoid at times
-Reclusive/Not Socially Adept
-In a state of almost constant depression
History: Syron had a tough life as a hatchling. He grew up in the Forest of Tyto, having all of the ceremonies normal Barn Owls go through. His parents had a rocky relationship, and this often threw turmoil into Syron's and his siblings', his brothers Alha and Corbin, and his sister Fillia, lives. Arguments were commonplace, and Syron resorted to totally avoiding his parents in this state. Being the second to last child, after Corbin and Fillia, but before Alha, he got a reasonable amount of attention from his parents. Often, the time with his parents was marred by the arguments as the grew increasingly longer and grew in frequency, and so he grew increasingly farther and farther from them. He resorted to observing the things around him, apart from his parents. He was somewhat happier this way, but his world finally collapsed when he became an adult. Syron had stayed with his parents along with his siblings, not usual for a family of Barn Owls that large. Both parents refused to let go of their children, so they were in essence pressured into staying with them. One day as he was returning from hunting, his chore for that day, he saw smoke rising from within the trees. He returned to near where the smoke was, near his family's hollow, to find that it and trees around it were ablaze. With no way to help, he was forced to leave the area or risk suffering injuries or die. He searched the surrounding area all through the morning, and then finally went back to the spot where his family's hollow was the next night, having not slept at all. After conducting another extensive search, he came up with nothing to point to the whereabouts of his family. Everything was burnt to a crisp and very few landmarks remained. He stayed near, hoping, for a time, before leaving the area. He assumes his family perished in the fire. He now travels from place to place, mostly to Ambala, the Forest of Tyto, or Silverveil.
In Character: Syron quietly watched as a band of owls circled overhead. They were heavily armed, helmets and battle claws, not cheap ones either. As long as he stayed still, he would not be visible if they weren't looking for him. He was sitting on a lower branch, concealed by thick foliage. They landed on a branch above him and in front of him, which sent a pang of fright through him. He wondered to himself if they were, indeed, searching for him. Had he done something to anger someone, or to make them take an interest in him? He shook the thoughts out of his head, and attempted to reassure himself. And utterly failed to. The owls, all Barns, sat there as if there was a purpose to them being in that tree, not speaking a word among themselves. Another Barn came flying towards the tree, and as he caught sight of them, almost went yeep mid-flight, but recovered at the last second. The owls all took off, among sickening laughter, after the lone owl, who had managed to turn around and begin flying in the other direction.
The Barns caught up to him, and playfully attacked him, clawing him in all different ways and churring as they did so. The owl finally hit his threshold, and plummeted to the ground with a sickening cry. The Pure Ones were getting worse in the region.
