Hello there fellow forumites! This will be a compilation of my plot ideas so far to be commented on, amended, and or discarded depending on the community reaction. They will be structured through bullet points, each idea being a bullet point. Ideas may be added or change over time, if so I will give an "update post" to bump the thread. As always, I am open to suggestions!
- Splinter Factions
This is a very encompassing idea, as it can be applied to many of the factions of the Ga'Hoolian world. A few specific ideas came to mind, mostly involving Pure Ones or St. Aegolius. In regard to the Pure Ones, I suggest that a charismatic, albeit insane General of the Pure Ones will win the popular support of much of the general rabble of the ranks, and eventually either attempt to succeed the High Tyto through assassination, a civil war in the ranks, or even possibly a public duel to challenge the High Tyto. His coup will then ultimately fail, and he will be cast out of the ranks with his supporters, ultimately being made an example of to prevent any such further treachery. Disgraced, he and his supporters will slowly gain the support of other new owls from their new center of operations in the far reaches of either Ambala or Tyto. I suggest this group gain regional power in Ambala especially, and the fringes of Tyto, and intensify encounters in these areas and necessitate a need for Guardian intervention, possibly resulting in a "lesser of two evils" crusade, as fighting two weakened, but arguably powerful foes at once, on two to three fronts is ill advised. Guardians may possibly side with the insane ex-General, as he is well, insane, and more unpredictable and more likely to accept such offers. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of situation. The group, for added interest, may be christened "The Cleansed," as a symbolic representation of being cast out from the Pure Ones, relieving themselves of that tyranny, and thus perceiving themselves as cleansed. I would also suggest the insane ex-General build a strong, zealot following of himself, possibly even religious, and I believe a name such as "The Scarred One" would be appropriate (from being horribly scarred when staging his coup and being made an example of).
St. Aegolius is, well, not the most exciting faction per say. But, I believe that the Ablah General, who has absolute power, could absolutely change that. My suggestion is such that the Ablah General, realizing that they are regionally losing power to increasing Guardian and Pure One (or even Cleansed, if we run two plots at once) incursions into Ambala, and even some brazen raids into the canyons, will seek to consolidate their sphere of influence, and will set up military posts outside of the canyons and even into Ambala, The Barrens, and even one or two in the Shadow Forest. This, however, will be their greatest mistake. Having intelligence on these posts, one of the factions will set up a stealth raid that will either destroy the posts and then move on into the now crippled Canyons, where brutal to the last owl fights will occur in caves, or slip past the posts in force and take over the Canyons. I personally like the second idea better. As the remaining St. Aegolius faction members either flee the canyons, or flee from their posts in the wilderness, they will seek to find a secluded area to regroup, far away from other groups. I suggest here that they form a shadowy network of outcasts in the aptly named Shadow Forest at this point, this group's role to be determined in the future.

- Colonization-
Yes, yes, I know what you're thinking. Where would a group of owls colonize and why? Let's think back to the California Gold Rush here. You have a remote, largely
uninhabited land, where a miner finds gold, a desirable resource. As rumors of this circulates, many hopefuls move west (Some by wagon, some by boat), looking to hit the big time. Let's examine the Northern Kingdoms. They're isolated, large amounts of the land is treacherous by varying degrees, and only a few (by my interpretation) native owls live up here, except in some large concentrations (I.E. Glauxian Brothers and Sisters Retreat, etc.). All we need now is something to attract owls to come here. What do I think owls would travel there in larger numbers for? The Others' ruins. A new spate of recently discovered Others' settlements, along with preserved artifacts (from the cold) might be enough to attract owls. Such artifacts can be extremely valuable to the right people, and even could facilitate the development of new technologies or even lead up to new plots. It's just a vague idea rolling around in my head, but I don't think it has to be all too specific to work. - Formation of a New Settlement-
This sounds much like the above, but I had a different view of it in my mind. I was thinking of the formation of the first literally independent settlement in the realm of the Ga'Hoolian world. It would function as a trade state, and would bar no one, except those who have caused trouble in the past (likely not factions, just individuals). This would be an extreme cause of tension and it would be likely that several contingents of different forces would be there to protect their own interests, as well as the city's own police force. Many plots could stem off of this, and I'd like to keep it this non descriptive at the moment for maximum RP flexibility.
