Description: A slightly scary looking owl, for Morgan is HUGE. Also with those slightly menacing ear tufts. She's sometimes not the most approachable owl. She how dark feathers on her head. That fade to lighter browns and grays on her face. She has a mix of dark brown feathers and bright tawny feathers on her breast. Her wings (Which may I add are HUGE.) are a lovely dark brown with a tiny bit of lighter colors mixed in. Though she is elderly, not much shows in her appearance. Though you can see where her feathers are turning slightly gray, and her wings aren't as strong as they used to be. She has large wise amber eyes.
Personality: ~Smart~ One of the smartest owls in the tree. Well in her mind. She sees herself as the smartest owl in the tree, even though there is probably a owl smarter than her. Even so, she is a genius. She could tell you anything about any subject in the library. For she has read all the books in the library, and is always happy to show off her skills.
~Proud~ She is highly proud of her skills, and when people challenge her skills. She gets rather fierce and a little scary.
~Strict & Harsh~ Morgan is very strict about rules, especially with older owls. (She is softer on owlets.) Also, when people talk to her. She isn't always super nice, and commonly kind of harsh. If older owls ask her stupid questions. She isn't very nice when answering them. She has a very busy life, and doesn't have time for nonsense. She is a very no nonsense owl.
~Motherly~ Though she isn't the classic kind of motherly owl. She cares for every little owlet in the world, even though they can drive her crazy sometimes. She still wants to care for them and teach them all of her wisdom. How their little minds soak up knowledge like a sponge. It makes her so happy!
~Lonely~ Though she loves her job and all of her work. Morgan wishes that it wasn't as a lonely job as it was. Even though she speaks to all the owls in the tree. They aren't exactly her friends. She just talks to them as the matron of the tree. That was it, and she wished that it wasn't.
~Hard Working~ She works, and works, and works, and works all day long. She loves working, and she doesn't ever seem to want to stop. She hates not working, and finds it a pure waste of her time to not work.
Strengths: Hunting (She's not great though.), and she is very intelligent.
Weaknesses: Fighting, long flights, and rather strict.
History: Born far away from the great tree, Morgan had never thought the legends to be true. She thought they were just little stories for small owlets, and she never believed any of it. She was hatched in a large hollow away from St. Aggie's and the Pure Ones. So she and her two sisters were safe. They had quite happy peaceful life, till Morgan's youngest sister tried to fly before she was ready. They were all panicking. It was midnight and their parents had left them to hunt. But a large great horned owl dropped through the trees and picked the little owlet up. Morgan and her second sister screamed thinking it was an owl from St. Aggie's. (They had heard the stories.) But the male owl dropped their sister into the hollow, and stayed with them till their parents returned. During that time he talked with the three females telling them about the Guardians. He was a guardian from the Great Tree who had been out on a Search & Rescue mission. When his partner (Who was a barn owl.) heard something drop onto the ground below them, so he had dived down to see what it was finding the little owlet.
Morgan was amazed that the stories were true, and as soon as she could fly. She went off to find the Great Tree. Her sisters wanted to come, but they couldn't fly yet. So she left on her own. After a few months she finally crossed the sea and found the tree. But it was clear after spending a little time there. That she wasn't made for the tree. She wasn't good at Search & Rescue. She wasn't a good collier. She wasn't good at anything! One night she was in her hollow alone crying, and one of the current matrons came up to her. They talked for a while, and the matron said that she would talk to the king and queen about Morgan becoming a Matron like herself. Morgan was so happy when she was accepted! She has been working since...
In Character: Working... Working... Working... That was all the old owl ever did. She didn't mind in the slightest bit. There was nothing more gizzard pleasing then a long night of work. She churred slightly. Oh they always think i'm crazy for liking work. For never seeking adventure and danger. For never wanting to leave the tree, but it's because of this. She was speaking of the quiet. It was almost first light, and all the owls were bedding down in their own hollows. The great singer of the tree would start soon. The sweet song that let everyone know it was time for sleep. It was time for them to dream their own little dreams of perfect starry nights.
Morgan picked up a book and hopped over to shelf returning it to it's rightful place. That was the last misplaced book, and she no longer had any thing to do. She turned her head around, but she saw nothing else for her to do. The silence was almost eerie to her now. Time for even me to sleep. She sighed to herself as she took flight and left the library.
It was a bright and happy looking morning. Being a huge reader herself, she did appreciate light much more than most owls. She saw it as a beautiful creation. Even though owls weren't meant to be out in the light. But there was still light in the darkness of night. The light of the glowing moon or shining stars, yet it was different. Something about the magic of the sun was different. It made her so happy and frightful at the same time. But, no, she was still an owl, and the night was where she belonged.
Morgan turned away from the sea and into her hollow. A nice strong thick perch was set in there, and she landed gently on it. She was surprisingly graceful for such a large owl. As she closed her eyes, she dream, not a dream of flying in the starry night, but a dream sun light and moonlight and even starlight as one.
Other: I realize that the age is very high, but it it isn't uncommon for eagle owls in the wild to live up to 20 years. If this needs to be lowered to match with other species. I'm okay with that!
