Plant Domestication
Owls have discovered primative ways to support and grow several important plants. Herbs, rather than being hunted for, can instead be grown in clusters at areas that are suitable. Small patches of plants or huge clusters (though needing more work), are possible. The owners of the plants must be vigilant, though, their harvest could be stolen.
Advanced Smithing arts
A need for stronger, more durable, and more effective weaponry is needed. Be creative, if the weapon seems realistic, then go for it.
Calendar
Calendars are being put togeather as accurately as possible. Owls have been studying the night and day, the length between seasons, and the effects of time on different regions. The calendar is as accurate as it can currently get, as the several copies may be different. Sundials may also be constructed.
Music
There is a need for sound. Owls have been testing what sounds objects make when hit, pulled, or blown. Horns, drums, and other simple instruments can be constructed, though some require a smith. I would also like to mention the Jaw harp, a instrument I am interested in.
Diverse world
Journals, ships logs, and illustrations made by the others have been found made by the 'Others', AKA Humans. The world is much bigger than is was originally thought to be. Many unknown lands are found to exist, animals that were unheard of and Bizarre, various unheard of minerals, and so much more. The owls are unable to reach these lands, they would collapse from exhaustion into the sea of vastness if they tried. This has influenced some owls to think up of ways to travel there.
Law
Flint mopping and Chaw chopping isn't enough, especially for newcomers who aren't in a chaw, and aren't exactly 'just'. Punishments must be made to those who do unrighteous deeds. There is a dug out prison under Cape Glaux that serves the Guardians. The Pure ones reuse a prison in their fortress built by the others. Various new weapons are introduced, a bolas, dangerous if the iron balls hit the owl or they are caught high above the ground, but with the right conditions it could capture an enemy. Clubs could also be introduced. Crude rope is used to restrain. The Guardians are now advised to not leave dying enemies to die slowly, but instead capture them. The Guardians do not want to sink lower, so they treat their prisoners with respect and give them minor luxeries.
